‘Dance for all’, ‘The School of Magic’ and the ‘Zip Zap Circus’ are some of the associations that since decades try to help the children coming from the huge townships out of Capetown such as Guguletu and Khayelitsha, often underdeveloped urban living areas that from late 19th century until the end of apartheid, were reserved for non-white residents (Africans and ‘coloureds’).
Some of the children attending these schools become dance etoile, famous magicians, able-bodied performer in circus art or simply children with a better future.
